I have been slowly getting into it. I watched it for a while, then the site went down, then I started reading the manga and now I am watching it again ;A; I like it, personally, but it's a bit different from the other Magical Girl anime I've seen. It's definitely darker, but I guess "dark" is in the eye of the beholder.
Also I bought a couple of the collectible figures. I just really like the character designs too xD

Magical Girl Anime? You mean something like Sailor moon?

Yep! The whole, transform into magical looking outfits so we can fight monsters secretly by night and be innocent schoolgirls by day kinda thing. Although in Madoka's case I think Sailor Moon got the better end of the deal concerning the "let's attempt to be an average schoolgirl" thing...
bwahaha spoilers~

Yea. Madoka is supposed to take a more realistic stance on "Enlisting children to fight a war" thing. Because as much as I love magical girl, that kinda of thing would have consequences.

What? Consequences? NAAAAAAAAAAAH! Children wouldn't get psychological trauma from taking part in a war. Neither would they ever flunk out of school.

It was mine~ I remember seeing snippets of it on Sky One at my friends house (which she would never watch), so I had to wait until ITV picked it up. Ah memories.
EDIT: And by "it" I mean Pokemon.

errr Pokemon or DBZ, but I didn't watch either of those knowing they were anime . . . I guess the first anime I watched and knew it was anime was probably Naruto. I think the first anime I watched all the way through was death note.

I picked up Sherlock Hound yesterday. To summarise for those not in the know; Miyazaki does Sherlock Holmes, and everybody is a dog. (Watson is a chubby Scottie dog with a gigantic moustache.) It's pretty cool! Kinda slow moving and the age definitely shows in the voice acting and such, but it's still pretty enjoyable. The episodes mostly seem to be based on canon stories, albeit very loosely. (The first episode is "The Four Signatures" and it's basically "The Sign of Four" on a boat, with dogs... and pirates!) Looking at the credits, they've basically gone "Oh, London, that's in England right? And England is in Europe..." and then drawn Miyazaki's idea of Europe, which is more like the south of France than Central London. Also there is a slight hint of steampunk tech. Looks good though! I will report back when I have seen more~
