One of the adobe programs lets you scan pictures into it, yea? Like so that the lining is allready done?

Yeah. On mine I have to go through the "Import>>WIA Support" to access my scanner, but you can basically do it through the program, so that you don't have to open up your scanner program, scan, save, then re-open it in Photoshop. It's quite handy actually

Does that make it so that you don't have to trace the picture?

Depends how neat your lines are. If you're like me and can't make clean pencils to save your life, there are actually some really cool things you can do in Both Photoshop and Illustrator that make life a ton easier. Namely; the pen tool. You can also do something similar in Paint Tool Sai (which is considerably cheaper than adobe programs). It's slow as hell if your lines are complicated, but it isan option.

Thanks for the input Ninja, I'll read through that page later to see if that tool is the same as one in gimp.
Edit after reading that: gimp has the exact same tool, the only difference is that it looks different when messing with the curve of the line. Thanks for showing me the tutorial, I'll try the tool on the next picture I work on.

I have tried using the pen tool and I can never get the hang of it T_T The end result looks so pretty though...

It's so time-consuming! I used to get the worst hand cramps if I did it for too long. These days I just use my tablet, but that's not really a suitable solution for everyone.

I'm gonna try using it on the next picture I do. Being a teenager with almost nothing to do, and few friends to keep happy does have its perks. n_n
Don't take the few friends thing as me going, "BAWWWW I HAVE NO FWIENDZ!" it's more that I'm picky with friends . . . I don't mean like I'm a jerk and am all like, "NO! YOU CAN'T BE MY FRIEND!" I just don't make friends to have friends, ya know?

I understand that. I'm kind of socially awkward myself, so I take the "quality over quantity" approach to friends. Plus, sometimes, I just need time off, y'know? /OT
Take advantage of it while you can. School and jobs can be both physically and creatively tiring.

I'm the same way, if I'm honest. I spend most of my time at work or at home with my dogs and my parents. Sometimes I hang out with some comic people, and sometimes my friend who lives in Arkansas, when she is in town. I don't like certain types of people and I'm really awkward and shy in public places. I don't think there's anything wrong with being introverted or picky about your company. We just want to be surrounded by people we like, I guess.
That probably should go in off topic so feel free to respond to it there. I'll post on topic when I am on my laptop since my tablet is kind of being a butt lol

I'm currently working on a picture; I'm doing the lines ATM (lineart? to call anything I make art makes me uneasy), and I must say that using the pen tool is WAY easier and less sloppy looking.
So yea, thanks for pointing that out to me! n_n KARMA FOR EVERYONE!
Edit: umm as it would turn out there is a limit to the karma I can give, so karma for Ninja and Ajah. I feel silly.

Yay Karma! I wonder if it will let me give people karma now... Oh it only let me does one at a time xD Ah well! But yay! And lineart is more of a technical term, I guess. Not saying your stuff isn't art (because it is! SHUSH) but you can say lineart But yeah, definitely curious about trying the pen tool now

I have a lot of self hate, I'm the worst at everything I do. It's not really self hate, it's more of a I know I can do better thing. I'm getting off topic though.
It only lets admins give one karma at a time? That's wierd.

Ajah, IIRC you can use "view profile" and then "edit profile" to change the Karma amount to any number you like. Only on an admin account, or a mod account with the right priveliges though.

It's been so long since I used proboards (long before... in my RP days) Thanks Cazzie!
