Everything is powered by the Source; be you Good or Evil, using magic or science, your power comes from this limitless pool of energy. But one day the Source begins to weaken and become finite. As it loses power so do the many lands it supplies, and they have begun to wither and die. In a rash move the Guardians of the Source have sent out destroyers to kill Heroes, Villains and anyone with the potential to be either, so that their great powers are returned to the Source and thus allow it to live a little longer.
But you don't know any of this, not yet. All you know is that something is wrong. Heroes are disappearing, a great darkness spreads across the universe and only you, with all your potential, can stand against it.
You won't be alone, of course. The path to becoming a hero is hard and dangerous, so it's only sensible to provide you with a little... guidance.
Fractured is a multi-fandom RP where each player takes the role of a potential hero. Your story starts at the end of whatever canon you choose to play from, as your character is swept up in an adventure that will span the universe and beyond.- I'm looking for 3 – 5 players of any experience level. Ideally you should be able to post at least once a week but I know that life can get in the way and RL is always more important than RP.
- You can play from any fandom you know, but be prepared to explain it to me if I've never heard of it.
- You need to make an original character within that fandom, (I'll provide an example shortly) then fill out a character sheet (Which I'm fixing up right now). Once that's done I'll check it over and if everything looks good and balanced, I'll approve it. Once we have enough approved sheets, the game will start! - Pick a work of fiction you like, then make up a character to fit that universe.
- Your character's story begins after the events of whatever canon you chose (I'll allow a small amount of leeway here if anyone has anything really cool/is playing from an unfinished canon). They are potential heroes, so they're not super-awesome main-character level yet, so be sure to leave some room for growth and charatcer development.
Some credits need to go to various members of my own forum who provided material for this game and kindly allowed me to use it here. So! You guys interested? Any questions?

Well, this does sound interesting.
I'm not sure I'll actually be able to actively participate in an RP, but I guess I'd like to. Also I'd have no idea what to choose as a character... so many different universes... I'll think about it.
The Guardians of the Source going around assassinating potential heroes and villains reminds me of a character of mine which pretty much did the same thing, except killing stories to prevent too many of them from existing. (Part of the idea is that most unfinished stories or dead webcomics or whatever are his fault)

Excellent! I'm not looking to move amazingly fast with this. One or two posts a week is probably going to work out fine with the pacing.
Any more takers?

Me, naturally! I like the premise, I just have to decide which universe I want to choose from since I don't have anything I'm a die hard fan of or that I have an extensive knowledge on. For instance, I considered a character from the Fullmetal Alchemist universe but, I don't know jack about alchemy (I could research, I suppose. I'm just not very...educated. lol) But yeah, I'll see if I can rope anyone else in~ Edit: punkus said he will join but he is waiting to be on a working computer so he is all for it~

Then I will sort out character sheets in the next day or so! They're written, I just need to get the formatting sorted because version 5 has broken all of the BBcode.

I put up some character sheets, along with an example character. My apologies for the delay on that. If anybody has any questions or wants anything clarified, they can go ahead and ask me here, or PM me if they prefer, I'm not picky.

I usually use games like this if I have a character I want to pay but can't fit into a game. I'm willing to stretch the "post-canon" requirement for long-running series or series that haven't finished yet. (Like those epically-long shounen series such as Naruto or Fairy Tail.)

Could I use a fandom or series that is really obscure? Like maybe one or two people I know have heard of it? I ask because I'm having a hard time creating a character due to lack of info on a particular world/setting (or the part the character would be from) and I don't want to just make stuff up. At least with this particular series they are primarily earth based, but have alien origins, and I think with the characteristics carried over from their origins would make for an interesting dynamic.
Thoughts?

Sure! I'm even willing to accept a certain amount of headcanon as long as it's marked as such.

Alright, cool. Again sorry for not being very responsive in this avenue. I don't usually make fan OC's so it's a bit difficult, and I'm slightly nervous that I'll do it wrong (cause it's been a loong time since I made any). That and time hasn't been on my side as far as staying dedicated to one particular goal.

I've RPed with people who write Enoby-level wish-fulfillment and try to be "the main character" of every game they play, and also with people who write their post as a list of actions, and I managed several fairly lengthy games with all of them, so honestly, you have nothing to worry about.

(Warning: Links contain spoilers) Well, I am still undecided on what fandom to grab from... Most of what I am a fan of don't seem to make much sense to make a character for that would fit this... And most characters I make are for original universes anyway. (Of the hundreds or more of stories I've began to write, only one of them is a fanfic) Maybe a martian or mad scientist from the webcomic A Miracle of Science, or a character built from the rules of one of the roguelikes I play would worky... But, if we go ahead with this and I can't decide on a different character, I'll probably go a seijin from the cartoon Skyland. Telekinesis, telepathy and energy blasts seem like a good powerset. And could probably go through a relatively standard "learning to use powers" type thing. I'm still thinking.

That sounds like it'd work well! (It also sounds like a cool show.)
